Xist Fitness Aids the Happy Campers of Summertime

by Cindy Haynes

There are many ways to camp; whether it be jumping into that mammoth RV and heading into the forests of Wyoming; or, jumping into the truck with gear and ammo along for the ride to hunt, fish and trap while roughing it in the woods – all vacationers want a happy summer and a truly happy camping experience.

Even the ones who think of camping as sitting out on the patio and taking in the rays of the sun while relaxing and enjoying fiends and family, want to be happy while doing it. They also want to make sure that during the summer they do not have to give up any kind of fun.

Yes…this may take a toll on fitness; especially when you’re not the avid outdoorsman or woman who loves to hike in the mountains or swim long laps in the pool. But your friends at Xist Fitness – the most popular name in the health and fitness industry – want you to know that you can be a happy camper at all times and still stay in shape.

Cook-outs and campouts can most definitely add on the pounds. Should you skip them? Heck, No! That takes away the happy camper Xistsmile. But you can remember to pace yourself. During the summer you can put down the extra side of pulled pork and skip the piece of apple pie with ice cream. If you don’t want to do that (like most of us), you can utilize all that extra daylight time to head out to social events or take daytrips, where having fun while walking is the focus. These are completely relaxing; no stress will be had, and the apple pie with ice cream will be worked off before you call it a day and sleep out under the stars.

Speaking of sleep…summertime is the time to break away from the work routine and enjoy the ability to simply take a well-deserved, well-earned nap. You may not know this, but doctors have stated that just a twenty-minute catnap will cause major improvement to your mind. You gain peace, calm and erase tension. Not to mention, the nap increases resilience and boosts your immune system while enhancing the memory. All this, and you’re only exercise is to close your eyes and dream. Just make sure that the catnap is not near the actual regularly-scheduled bedtime hours. You need that full nighttime sleep to power up for the next day. And…the next day can be started out with a truly awesome workout inside the doors of Xist Fitness. That extra catnap can improve coordination, motor skills, speed and overall performance, making your workout a complete breeze.

Use your creativity to break the mold. Every single one of us 9-to-5’ers, or worse, get bogged down by the daily routine that we ‘have’ to keep. And when the long list of summer pool parties, luncheons and campouts gets to be too much and your body is craving a little rest and relaxation, take it. The weather outside may be stunning, but there will also be days of sweltering heat and humidity that do not look appetizing whatsoever. Taking off the tanning lotion and staying inside is a great thing to do on these days. You can still enjoy the sun by sitting in the air conditioning and reading a good book.

Dedicate a hot summer’s day to watching movies, or sitting with the one you love after cranking up the AC and cuddling. All cold weather states will probably gasp at this statement, seeing as that they wait forever to feel the warmth; but too much of a thing is not a good thing. Remember, just as the winter months can drag you down – having a straight month of all outdoor play under the hot rays of the sun can also be taxing. Listen to your gut and have a good time.

In the end, you can be a happy camper, stay fit and have a fantastic time during the lazy, hazy days of summer. Mixing things up and allowing yourself to take time FOR yourself, will help make sure that by the time winter comes around again, you’ll be wearing a smile. (Until the first Nor’easter hits, of course). Enjoy!
