Understanding the World of Social Media Marketing

Yes, this is a line that was spoken by a very famous literary character as he was speaking to a ‘boy wizard’ who the world fell in love with. But this is not just something said by a very skilled ‘magician’ named Dumbledore, this is actually a statement that is beyond true.

Why talk about this particular reference when it comes to the world of social media? Simple. Because without words, without Be First logothe ability to talk about a brand, keep up a blog, answer client and customer questions in a prompt and reliable way – the whole social media realm that your company is trying to build falls apart. What many CEO’s and executives have discovered in the past year as social media became the “end all and be all” of how a company can build brand awareness and sell their products and services, is that the ‘power of words,’ the statements made and the ingenuity and vision behind the websites, events, landing pages, Twitter and Facebook posts, etc., is an absolute necessity in order to gain success and expand your company.

The so-called, ‘experts of subject matter,’ who spend their time in the office 24/7 honestly do not have the expertise when it comes to updating, adding content, or offering a blog to consumers that will have them cling to your specific company. In life there are experts in many fields. Such as, you would not hire the best auto mechanic on the face of the earth to reconfigure your stock market purchases of the day. Nor would you hire the premiere financial advisor to help you replace a muffler on a ‘57 Chevy.

See that? When it comes to ‘experts’ everyone has their own specific field that they thrive in, and that is the same when it comes to writing, updating and preparing you company’s blog. If you do not have that Social Media Team with the skilled talent of a true business writer on board, then your blog – no matter how visually appealing – will simply not offer the content to expand your customer base.

Whether it be a journalist or a professional writer, hiring these skilled technicians offer your company and your company’s brand the reality of being able to generate awareness when it comes to your blog and have the expertise to put into print what that client out there wants to know.

In addition, writers are absolutely trained when it comes to research. They have the ability – because that is their chosen profession – to sit in front of a computer and research and write – keeping their full and complete focus on you and your company. Writers are already truly skilled in the art of targeting an audience and then connecting with that audience (a lot like a well-renowned actor has up on the screen). When it comes to the writer, they have the experience on the smaller screen, the computer screen that is CONSTANTLY buzzing, with millions of people sharing information and spreading the word to other friends and followers about your brand.

Relevant content is a must – but that content must also speak to an audience. It must be captivating and compelling; therefore, this storyteller you hire must be able to separate you from the others in your industry who are searching for that expert writer to make them look even better than you. This is what truly separates the writer from the rest of the Social Media Team who are working at all times on analytics and monitoring – making sure that the buzz that is generated about you company is constant, ever-growing and up-to-date in order to keep your reputation solid. While they do all this, the writer makes sure to see their job as not only an informative part of the social media experience – but, at all times, the creative part.

So remember as you head into this New Year and wish to jump on board with the world of social media in order to expand your business, not to simply ‘add’ this particular job requirement into your assistant’s already overflowing corporate work schedule. Always keep in mind that the key to a great blog that is continuously seen by millions of clients and wannabe customers comes from hiring that true ‘magician’ who has that wealth of ‘inexhaustible words’ at their disposal.
