“Found or Lost: A Poet, a Visionary, and an Actor Celebrate the Creativity of Women” hosted by Studio PAUSE in Arlington, VA, on Saturday, March 22 from 6 – 8 pm features Sweta Srivastava Vikram, Marga Fripp, and Kate Campbell Stevenson.

The Pushcart Prize nominee author will read from her poetry books No Ocean Here, Beyond the Scent of Sorrow (2013) and Kaleidoscope: An Asian Journey of Colors (2010) at the event, which is themed “Lost and Found”.

Sweta S. Vikram Vikram’s work intimately relates to this theme, in a way that many would find both poetic and humanistic.

“With No Ocean Here, losing my way to stories of female survivors of violence helped me give a voice to unheard stories. And losing myself in the journey of colors and their relevance in a Hindu woman’s wardrobe helped me explore my own identity and led to the book Kaleidoscope: An Asian Journey of Colors,” says Vikram about her work.

The process of searching, though excruciating, can be enriching too. This is her take on the question of losing and finding oneself by expression in form of writing.

“To me, getting lost is another way of finding oneself,” she says.

The author event at Studio PAUSE will also include book signing and participants will be served refreshments.
